Scoping Report for the ESIA Greece - East Section (In Greek)

On the 3rd of December 2012 TAP submitted its Scoping Report for the planned eastern section of the pipeline in Greece to the Greek authorities and started consultation process with relevant stakeholders.

The authorities, NGOs, other stakeholders and the public were invited to provide their views and comments, which will be incorporated in the development of the full Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.

The Scoping Process is part of the overall Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process by which stakeholders are consulted to identify all key issues that should be investigated as part of the ESIA itself. Regarding the West Section, a Scoping Report was prepared and submitted, in June 2011, to the Greek Authorities, see details below.

The Scoping Report Greece East provides a description of TAP’s preferred route for the eastern section, including potential environmental and social impacts and corresponding potential mitigation measures.

TAP will be holding scoping meetings with all National, Regional and Municipal Authorities and all Heads of Local Communities along the proposed pipeline route from the 12th December – 18th December 2012. Stakeholders in communities along the route can contact their Head of Community to view the report and provide comments or questions. In addition, any individuals or groups with interest in the project may access the TAP website to download the Scoping Report and submit their feedback.

Community meetings in all communities in the vicinity of the pipeline are planned for early 2013.

TAP will be submitting an Integrated Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report including Greece West and East Section to the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (MEECC) in  mid 2013.
