Turkey and Switzerland sign Memorandum of Understanding on gas transport

05 novembre 2009

The Swiss and Turkish governments made a joint statement on 5 November 2009 announcing that Turkey and Switzerland had signed a memorandum of understanding on the transfer of natural gas.

The MoU specifically mentions the TAP project. This is seen as a positive step by TAP’s Managing Director, Robert Klein, who said, “I am greatly encouraged by the news earlier this month. TAP’s shareholders are obviously a step closer to resolving the issue of gas transit through Turkey.”

EGL and Statoil are 50/50 shareholders in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline joint venture. For more information on TAP’s shareholders, please go to Developers.
